2. Paul Millsap Will Be Moved

Atlanta Hawks fans may not want to hear or see this but Paul Millsap will be moved before the end of this season.

Millsap is in the final year of a discounted two-year, $19 million contract. He played extraordinary for the Hawks during an injury-riddled campaign last year, averaging 17.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.  He was recognized for his play and was voted by the coaches to be a reserve on the 2014 East All-Star team.

Millsap, 29, is in for a big pay-day, and with about three or so years still left in his prime, expect him to get that big contract. This is where the Hawks will run into problems with Millsap.

General Manager Danny Ferry has been very financially responsible during his two-year tenure and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Millsap took a discounted deal last time around but don’t expect him to do so this time.

If the Atlanta Hawks and Paul Millsap can’t agree on a reasonable contract, the Hawks would essentially lose him for nothing.

This is why Millsap will be moved.

Ferry will see this as the only option because he wants to save cap room as long as this team isn’t competing for a championship. Additionally, this offseason proved that Atlanta is not good enough to attract a marquee free agent.

Millsap is the Hawks’ best asset and with many other solid froncourt players around the league, the team could use the one-time All-Star as bait to swing a deal for an All-Star caliber wing player that they covet.
