I know what you’re thinking. Why is a game against the Orlando Magic a game to watch? Well, the Atlanta Hawks will come into this game after a grueling six game Western Conference road trip and a home game against San Antonio. More on this in the What To Watch For section but for now let’s talk about the Orlando Magic.
The Magic are expected to be bottom dwellers in the Eastern Conference. The Atlanta Hawks should be able to win as Orlando is still in full rebuild mode. They do have some good young talent but are not expected to compete for at least another two plus years.
What To Watch For
As stated earlier, the Atlanta Hawks should win this game. However, the Hawks have had a tendency of playing down to their competition.
Additionally, Atlanta will be coming into this game after a six game Westeren Conference road trip and a home game against San Antonio. The Hawks will be exhausted headed into this match-up but cannot allow themselves to lose focus and lose this game.
This game against Orlando is extremely important as it is a game towards the tail end of the season. If the Atlanta Hawks are in a tight race for a playoff spot, potentially home-court advantage, this game could play a huge factor for playoff positioning in the East.
Look for the Atlanta Hawks to play within the system to get off to a good start early. This is a game they should have and if they fall behind early and lose, it could have dire consequences during the final week of the season.
Atlanta Hawks should also look at the Magic’s youngsters. Sure Orlando isn’t ready to compete now but they have some very talented pieces. Hawks fans should keep an eye on Orlando’s rookies as Atlanta could run into problems with them in a few years. Plus it’s always nice to see the young guys put on a show.
