Atlanta Hawks to Rest Carroll, Korver & Millsap Against Philadelphia 76ers

On the heels of an impressive win over the LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers last night, the Atlanta Hawks will be without three key starters this evening against the 76ers, as DeMarre Carroll, Kyle Korver and Paul Millsap have all been giving the night off to rest.

Resting players is nothing new for head coach Mike Budenholzer. He gave Carroll, Al Horford and Jeff Teague a night off to rest last Saturday against the Miami Heat.

Last Saturday’s game against Miami was the second night of a back-to-back set, just like tonight’s game is.

The Hawks beat the Cavs 106-97 last night in a high intensity game that had a feel of playoff atmosphere about it.

Carroll had an excellent all-around game, finishing with 11 points, seven rebounds, two steals and one assist while shooting five-of-eight from the field, but his presence was felt most on the defensive end locking up LeBron James.

The “Junkyard Dog” limited “King James” to just to five points on 14.3 percent shooting while forcing four turnovers as his primary defender, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

With Carroll, Korver and Millsap all out, Kent Bazemore, John Jenkins and Mike Muscala will draw the start in their place, respectively.
