Atlanta Hawks Grades and Reactions to 101-88 Win Over Milwaukee Bucks
By Adam McGee
Atlanta Hawks Grades: Bench
Pero Antic, B
8 Points| 2-4 FG | 4-5 FT | 2 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |
Pero came to play in this one, as evidenced by his outstanding effort and defense all night long. He was charging around like a man possessed from one side of the court to the other, and on three separate occasions he could be found rushing from the paint out beyond the perimeter to provide help defense and smart double-teams. Sure, he can miss a lot of shots at times, but let’s not have this sort of work go unnoticed. More of that please.
Kent Bazemore, C-
0 Points | 0-1 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
Normally a bundle of energy who’s guaranteed to impact the game for better or worse, Bazemore was incredibly quiet in this one. Virtually anonymous for his 15 minutes court, maybe having his hands full with Milwaukee’s wings threw him off just a little.
Dennis Schröder, C+
4 Points | 0-2 FG | 4-4 FT | 1 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
Was causing all sorts of problems for the Bucks in his brief time on the court, it would have been interesting to see just how much he could have terrorized the defensive minded Michael Carter-Williams if he hadn’t got injured.
Thabo Sefolosha, B
11 Points| 4-6 FG | 2-2 FT | 4 REB |0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |
It really is great to have Thabo healthy again. What this game showed is that the injury had no effect on Sefolosha’s place in the offense and the way in which he had found a rhythm before he got hurt. Thabo is still rolling, and the Hawks’ wings look really strong as the Playoffs near.
Shelvin Mack, C
0 Points | 0-3 FG | 0-0 FT | 1 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |
Even if his shot didn’t fall, Mack distributed the ball quite well in this one. With Bud expected to rest players and Schröder not traveling with the team, one thing that we know for sure is that Shelvin will get a lot of time in tonight’s game in the Motor City.
Mike Muscala, C+
3 Points| 1-4 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
The Moose got loose, once again, in what’s becoming a far more regular occurrence. Muscala is definitely still honing his game, and requires a lot of polish, but the improvements are there for everyone to see. On top of that, his energy and enthusiasm at times can seem infectious.
