Adam: This time twelve months ago many were making the case for Steve Clifford to be Coach of the Year. Is he responsible for the dip in the team’s fortunes or is this just like his “difficult second album” that he’ll bounce back from next season?

Andrew: I still think he’s a good coach. Offensively his sets are a bit questionable, but with the talent he has to work with that is to be expected. You won’t find “pace and space” in Time Warner Cable Arena. He still has the defense as the 6th best in the NBA (103 points allowed per 100 possessions), considering the limited personnel and injury issues that is impressive.

Solid second albums are tough to come by. Hornets fans were expecting “Rumours” (Fleetwood Mac), but this season has been more like any Lil Wayne album. Though it’s been tough fans should not be telling Clifford to “Go Your Own Way”. He deserves another year to right the ship.
