  • Adam: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s improved jumper this season has transformed what most people had assumed to be his career ceiling. With whispers mentioning him as someone who should be in the mix for Defensive Player of the Year, how important is he to Charlotte’s future now?

Andrew:When he is healthy MKG is fantastic. He racks up steals, blocks shots, and plays great on-ball defense. His jumper is much improved, but his offensive game still needs work. That being said, he is still extremely important to their future. When he is off the court their opponent’s offensive rating rises from 98.8 to 107. That’s an insane jump. He is their defensive anchor, and his aggressiveness frequently sets the tone for the rest of the team. He is absolutely a player they will be around. There could be big changes this offseason but Kidd-Gilchrist is staying put.
