The first game in this Eastern Conference Quarterfinal matchup is finally in the books with the Hawks pulling away from a feisty Brooklyn squad 99-92.

Atlanta proved their dominance again as evidenced by their 4-0 season sweep of the Nets in the regular season. This Game 1 has put them in a great position to duplicate the formula, but Brooklyn had a few concerning spurts in the game, proving the playoffs are a totally different animal.

The ball movement whirled and dazzled for most of the night as Kyle Korver took the spotlight with his plethora of big shots down the stretch. Atlanta powered through the game’s ebbs and flows always with an answer to halt any momentum trying to creep in from the opposition.

Brooklyn tried to slow Atlanta down in the half court and the size inside caused some problems, but ultimately the speed and depth were to much to handle. Both teams will take a long rest until they face off again Wednesday night at Philips Arena.

Let’s dive into the post-game reactions and Atlanta Hawks grades of this opening game triumph.
