Atlanta Hawks Grades: The Bench

Dennis Schröder, B+

12 Points| 5-11 FG | 1-1 FT | 0 REB | 6 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

He gets a few extra brownie points because he’s basically been the consistent bright spot for a struggling bench. Hard to believe he wasn’t even considered last year for productive minutes with how impactful his presence has been in these playoffs. It’ll only increase his confidence.

Shelvin Mack, C-

2 Points| 1-2 FG | 0-0 FT | 1 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

Another brief performance for the Butler Bulldog, which makes sense for his lack of statistical breadth. He’s efficient and careful when he’s out there, and I just can’t help but wonder if it’s a calm before a near future offensive storm.

Kent Bazemore, C-

3 Points| 1-5 FG | 1-2 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK |

His big chunk of minutes delves deeper than his point output would indicate. He assumes a larger need on the defensive end in Thabo’s absence and with it forces tougher shots. Still, some extra cha-ching never hurt nobody.

Mike Scott, D+

3 Points| 1-7 FG | 0-0 FT | 1 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

One three pointer and not much else to show for it. Mike is trying to break out of a scoring funk so perhaps a change in scenery will do him good. Last time at Barclays, he had 20 and eight.

Pero Antic, C+

8 Points| 2-6 FG | 3-5 FT | 2 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

I’m liking the confidence that Pero is putting into his three-point shots and that goes double for his foul drawing. He has an innate ability of getting to the line, and if he can cash in those points like he should they may be the difference for some of these close ball games.
