Atlanta Hawks Grades: The Starters
Jeff Teague, C+
12 Points| 4-13 FG | 4-5 FT | 3 REB | 6 AST | 3 STL | 0 BLK |
Thanking his lucky stars Deron Williams isn’t producing anything at all this series and can keep him in check. Problem is, like Schröder, he didn’t finish at the rim, missing some agonizing ones that swirled all the way out. Dishing the rock was forced and teammates weren’t ready and turnovers (4) were too high.
Kyle Korver, C-
2 Points| 1-8 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 2 BLK |
Not a great night when there are no Korver treys to swoon over. Close-outs were tight and he had no choice to pass it out or forcibly rush shots when the Hawks needed to start a comeback. He’s great at the fake shot pass and it kept the defenses on their toes but I’d rather relish the shot attempts if he can get his groove back.
DeMarre Carroll, B+
22 Points| 9-12 FG | 1-2 FT | 6 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |
Alongside Paul Millsap, he provided the only consistent offense all night, bouncing back nicely from his Game 2 brick fest. His 22 points were a playoff career-high, a nice personal accolade he’d rather trade for a win. Gave up some defense to fill in our offensive void, he’ll need more support on the point scoring end to alleviate the strain.
Paul Millsap, A-
18 Points| 7-18 FG | 2-2 FT | 17 REB | 3 AST | 5 STL | 1 BLK |
Unknowingly productive. That’s pretty much Paul Millsap’s game when you look up and see how he managed awesome stats like that without doing anything outwardly flashy. The most consistent Hawk poured his soul out, especially on the glass to lessen the Lopez blow. Huge bright spot in a dull loss.
Al Horford, B-
7 Points| 3-12 FG | 1-2 FT | 8 REB | 5 AST | 1 STL | 2 BLK |
Just a tough time finding anything to drop offensively, even with an admirable display on the boards and good work setting screens. But man could not slow down Brook. Help side was late at times but Brooklyn’s big man had some easy baseline drives and put backs against the undersized Al.
