The Good:
- Quite frankly, I’ve had just about enough of those pesky Nets hanging around during the entire game, and apparently so did the players. No more close games. Atlanta floored the gas pedal and never let up until the final buzzer in the first blowout of the entire series. This was Hawks basketball, a resurrection from their January surge, a collective, imposing, running attack and players knocking down their wide open shots. Absolutely no mercy and that’s just they way we like it. Atlanta opened the third on a 23-3 run that included five Nets turnovers. The Hawks scored 41 points in the quarter and doled out 34 assists for the game, the most in Hawks playoff history since 1988. Safe to say, they’re back!

- No more road woes! Atlanta got the nagging monkey off their back when it comes to playoff games away from Phillips Arena. Historically, in situations where they had a chance to close out a series on the road, the Hawks have been very unsuccessful (0 for their last 6 attempts). The Hawks, thankfully, bucked the trend and the win, coupled with the degree in which they won, is astronomical to the psyche of the players going forward. They’ve played with a chip on their shoulders all year and that won’t be going away for the foreseeable future.
