Atlanta Hawks Grades: The Bench
Dennis Schröder, B-
9 Points|Â 4-7 FG |Â 0-0 FT |Â 3 REB |Â 4 AST |Â 0 STL | 0 BLK |
Another solid output on both ends for the second year guard. A lot more assists and a lot less turnovers, Dennis slowly is looking more comfortable controlling the offense and being more active on the glass. Wonder how a Teague-Schröder combo would do breaking the lumbering DC front court?
Kent Bazemore, D
2Â Points|Â 1-3 FG |Â 0-0 FT |Â 0 REB |Â 1 AST |Â 0 STL |Â 1 BLK |
Played way too long and didn’t produce nearly enough. Ran into trouble against the size in the paint and looked out of sorts defending one-on-one matchups. Dunk right before the buzzer was a nice highlight.
Mike Scott, D+
2Â Points|Â 1-5 FG |Â 0-0 FT |Â 4 REB |Â 0 AST |Â 0 STL | 0 BLK |
Got in to alleviate a bullish Paul Millsap for a few spells. We play better when Mike can get hot and that’s still yet to be seen. Mike’s only hoop was a big dunk on the break, which a smarter Bradley Beal quickly moved away from this time.
Pero Antic, D
5Â Points|Â 1-5 FG |Â 2-2 FT | 5 REB |Â 0 AST |Â 0 STL |Â 1 BLK |
The matchup today didn’t favor Pero. Washington’s bigs are pretty fast and his slower three-point release causes him to force another pass or attempt a harder look. Better penetration and more subtle lurking on his end could supplement more daylight.
**Shelvin Mack got less than two minutes of action
Next: Mike Budenholzer
