Atlanta Hawks Grades: The Starters

Jeff Teague, B-

18 Points| 5-15 FG | 8-9 FT | 4 REB | 7 AST | 3 STL | 0 BLK |

When Jeff would attack to the rim good things would happen but all too often he would revert back to being tentative and forcing long shots at the wrong time. It was a very physical game and his frustration got the best of him when he got tagged for a Flagrant 1 against Bradley Beal and a technical foul when Beal fouled him just as hard, even though Teague said nothing.

Kyle Korver, C-

6 Points| 2-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 4 REB | 2 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

Two wide open looks in the first quarter and he let the Wizards pay for not closing out. After that he vanished. He couldn’t spring free the rest of the game and when he got called upon at the end to cap the huge rally, he couldn’t answer the bell.

DeMarre Carroll, C+

14 Points| 5-11 FG | 4-4 FT | 4 REB | 0 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

His streak of 20 point games was finally snapped. Carroll had some flashes of finishing inside the paint but didn’t let it work for him from the outside. It’s also the first time he’s been held without a three-pointer since Game 2 of the Brooklyn series. We’ll see how he responds to his Paul Pierce assignment.

Pero Antic, D-

1 Points| 0-4 FG | 1-2 FT | 1 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Started in the place of an under the weather Millsap but play-wise, didn’t look 100% himself. Just a really bad game from the big man and it didn’t help matters that he got into quick foul trouble. His last three-point attempt was way off the mark and at that point Mike Budenholzer had seen enough.

Al Horford, B-

12 Points| 6-13 FG | 0-0 FT | 10 REB | 4 AST | 0 STL | 2 BLK |

Despite the limited production and ineptitude of the Hawks offense throughout the first three quarters, Big Al still secured a double-double. A solid overall game in the capacity for which he played but he got out of the gate missing a lot of shots. His play was small compared to the sheer grit and production of the Wizards front court.
