A Glimpse Of The Future

Last but not least, Isaia Cordinier was the Hawks’ second-round pick from this year’s draft and even though the plan is to keep him overseas for at least one more year, he will still participate in summer league.

The 19-year-old is known for his athleticism and shooting ability, but his body and skill aren’t quite ready yet to make it in the NBA. It’s a positive for Cordinier to play in summer league to get a hint of what the NBA game is like and it’ll also give the team a better feel on how many years away he is from having a chance of making the final roster.

Others on the roster may out-shine him this summer, but don’t let that bring you to the conclusion that Cordinier was a mistake of a pick. With more development and experience, he as the potential to become a nice rotation player off the bench.

Cordinder is similar to Taurean Prince and DeAndre Bembry in that he has a nice feel for the game. At his age if he can put everything together in the next 1-to-2 years, we could see him becoming apart of this Hawks team.
