While the Atlanta Hawks haven’t won many championships in their existence, they’ve had a number of great players. Who makes the top 10?
The now Atlanta Hawks franchise has been in existence since 1946 when they were named the Tri-Cities Blackhawks. Since then, they have been called the Milwaukee Hawks and St. Louis Hawks before being re-located in Atlanta.
The franchise’s lone NBA Championship came in 1958 when they defeated the Boston Celtics in six games.
The Hawks have compiled 4 Western Conference Championships (1957, 1958, 1960, and 1961) and five division titles (1970, 1980, 1987, 1994, and 2015).
Throughout the team’s history, they have had a number of Hall-of-Fame players to suit up. More recently, the Hawks have been a strong contender in the Eastern Conference, making nine-straight playoff appearances. Current head coach Mike Budenholzer hopes to keep that streak alive heading into the 2016-17 season where they could very well have a few current players end up on this list when it’s all said and done.
But for now, let’s take a look at the top 10 players in Hawks franchise history.
