The Atlanta Hawks drafted Al Horford with the third overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. Horford was fresh off a very successful college career at the University of Florida–winning back-to-back National Championships in 2006 and 2007.

Horford made his presence felt immediately by landing the starting center position and being selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2008.

He is a four-time NBA All-Star and earned an All-NBA Third Team selection in 2011.

The 30-year-old ranks second in franchise history with a field-goal percentage of 53.5, sixth in blocks with 697, eighth in blocks per game with and average of 1.2, and eighth with 5,144.

Horford became an unrestricted free agent this summer and decided not to re-sign with the Hawks after making nine-straight playoff appearances. He instead signed with their conference rival in the Boston Celtics.
