2. Mookie Blaylock
Points per game (as a Hawk): 14.9
3-point field goals (as a Hawk): 1050
3-PT FG% (as a Hawk): 34.7%
Blaylock hit a record 1050 three-pointers while in a Hawk uniform, which is over 100 more than the second-closest player (Joe Johnson).
The one-time All-Star arrived in Atlanta after three years in New Jersey. The Hawks traded for him in 1992, and one of the greatest careers in Hawks history began.
Aside from draining threes, Blaylock was arguably the best perimeter defender of the 1990s. He nabbed 2.6 steals a game as a Hawk, and is 12th all-time in steals with 2075. But, this list isn’t about defense. Blaylock shot the lights out for seven seasons as a member of the Hawks, and will be fondly remembered by 90s’ basketball fans everywhere.
Hawks fans can also thank Blaylock for being the main piece in the trade that brought the #9 pick in the 1999 NBA Draft, the one that was used on Jason Terry.
