Top 10 Greatest Shooters in Atlanta Hawks History

6 of 11

6. Lou Hudson

Points per game (as a Hawk): 22.0

3-point field goals (as a Hawk): N/A

3-PT FG% (as a Hawk): N/A

Lou Hudson playing his full career without the three-point line is one of the true injustices of life. The 6-time All-Star poured in over 16,000 points over his 12-year career as a Hawk, and undoubtably would have scored even more if the NBA had adopted the three-point line during his career.

Hudson’s game resembled Klay Thompson when it came to moving without the ball, and his shot was just as effective. He shot over 45 percent in all but one of his 12 seasons in St. Louis/Atlanta, which is an extremely efficient number for a perimeter-oriented player.

Sadly, Hudson passed away on April 11th, 2015. True Hawks fans will keep Sweet Lou’s name going until the end of time (and hopefully get him posthumously inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame).
