With the NBA schedule officially released, it’s time to take a look at the must-see games for the Atlanta Hawks in 2016-17.

The NBA schedule has been released. Finally! August is always viewed as the dead period of the NBA since the majority of free agents have signed their new deals, summer league play has wrapped up, and there are no real mandatory practices or workouts held by the teams.

The timing is perfect because it gets you back into the mood for foreshadowing for the the next season.

The Atlanta Hawks are coming off a solid 2015-16 season where they finished 48-32–making their ninth-straight playoff appearance. Unfortunately, it ended in familiar fashion by getting swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games.

As a result, changes were necessary. They couldn’t keep the same group over and over and expect different results, so changes were made.

The addition of Dwight Howard will add a needed dynamic that this team hasn’t had–a big man who can protect the rim and an elite level and finish lobs above the rim off pick-and-rolls.

They also handed the keys to the offense to point guard Dennis Schroder. He has shown signs over the past couple of years that he will be able to handle the pressure that comes with being a point guard in the NBA, now it’s his turn to prove that the move was the right one to make.

Let’s quit wasting time and take a look at the must-see games of the Hawks 2016-17 schedule.
