3. Jeff Teague

2009 NBA Draft Round 1, Pick 19

Point Guard, 6’2″, 186 lbs, Wake Forest

Jeff Teague did not erupt onto the scene back in 2009, averaging only 3.2 points per game in less than 10 minutes per game. It took him a while to earn his spot as an NBA starter, but once he did he excelled for the Hawks.

Number zero was as explosive as any guard of his size in the league, taking flight in transition for rim rattling dunks on a nightly basis. In his first season as a starter he averaged over 12 points per game helping the Hawks to the fourth best record in the conference.

Teague had some great performances for Atlanta and made a ton of clutch shots in big moments for the club. One of his more memorable shots happened in the 2015 playoffs against the Indiana Pacers when he crossed over George Hill with a step back, shaking him so bad he fell out of bounds, then making a three in front of Indiana’s bench.

As a late first round pick, Teague gave more production than what could have ever been expected of him. He enjoyed his best season during 14- 15, averaging 15 points, 7 assists and being named to the all star team. He was traded just before this past June’s draft in a three-team deal that netted Atlanta the no. 12 pick.
