Key To The Game For Atlanta: Move On From Wednesday

It’s important to not let losses snowball in this league. One loss can turn into two, two turns into three, and so on. Just ask the Charlotte Hornets. They let a close loss to the Pistons turn into a five game losing streak. The Hawks will hope to avoid that on Friday night.

Wednesday night’s loss to Detroit was brutal. After the first quarter the game was just over. That type of defeat could shake a team’s confidence. At least the Hawks have already faced this type of adversity this season. A blowout loss won’t phase them.

Mike Budenholzer is a good coach. He’s been in the NBA for quite some time, and he coached under an NBA legend in Gregg Popovich. He’s seen this scenario before. I feel confident in saying he will press all the right buttons heading into this game against the Bulls.

This team also has quality veterans in Paul Millsap, Dwight Howard, Mike Dunleavy Jr., and Thabo Sefolosha. Leadership and intangibles may be a bit overstated, but times like this are when it actually matters. Or maybe I’m just making things up.
