Where are this year’s Atlanta Hawks compared to last season’s team?

The Atlanta Hawks’ two-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday after falling to the Chicago Bulls, 106-104. Dennis Schroder led Atlanta with 29 points while Dwight Howard logged another double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds). They followed that up with a Sunday loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

With a 39-38 record, the Hawks are not the team that they were on this date last year.

The Hawks are the sixth-seed in the Eastern Conference and need to get hot to get to the fifth-seed. Gaining ground for the fifth-seed was not a part of the expectations for Atlanta this year.

The Hawks’ loss to the Nets, the second in seven days, was rock-bottom for the team. The team with the worst record in the NBA clicked on all cylinders and tore the Hawks’ defense into pieces.

After somewhat gaining control of their season, let’s evaluate how the year has gone thus far.
