After a brief period of the Hawks being a normal team, we reached what, at the time, seemed like the peak of the season regarding nonsense. On January 5th, the Atlanta Hawks traded longtime fan favorite and only dependable shooter Kyle Korver to the rival Cleveland Cavaliers.

At first, this move actually did make sense because it came in with the news that the Hawks `were putting their star player Paul Millsap on the trade market. The Hawks were making moves towards rebuilding.

No need for veteran supporting players if you are tanking. However, four days after Korver was traded and the Hawks started listening to offers for Millsap, they stopped listening to offers for Millsap and shifted back towards contending.

Over the next few weeks of the season, the Hawks would take part in some games that didn’t go the way they should have. Some highlights include a 10 point loss at home to the Clippers without Chris Paul and Blake Griffin and blowing a 22 point fourth quarter lead to the 21-32 Sacremento Kings to lose by one.
