The Thriller in Toronto

Atlanta Hawks @ Toronto Raptors – December 16, 2016

Hawks win, 125-121

When Hawks fans look back at the best games of this season, many will probably not think about this game, but the Hawks’ mid-December battle with the Raptors was a very entertaining game from start to finish.

Embarrassed by the Toronto Raptors 13 days prior, the Atlanta Hawks made up for that poor performance in this rematch. Toronto had a franchise-record 44-point victory over the Hawks on Dec. 3. In this one, Atlanta responded by shooting 53.5 percent from the field. The Hawks came out of the gates blazing, leading 69-52 at halftime. DeMar DeRozan caught fire in the second half and closed the deficit to three points with 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

But Schroder iced the game by making one of his two free throws with 6.7 seconds left in the quarter. Dwight Howard was dominant in this game, scoring 27 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. This was a very fun game throughout and it diffidently deserves a mention.
