Atlanta Hawks 2016-2017 Season Review: Ersan Ilyasova
Ilyasova’s Best Performance
Ilyasova’s best performance came in a blowout loss for the Hawks.
When Atlanta welcomed the Portland Trail Blazers into Philips Arena on March 18, the Blazers ran the Hawks out of the gym with a 16-point win. But there was a silver lining in the form of Ilyasova.
He scored a very efficient 23 points on 7-for-11 shooting and was 4-for-5 from downtown. He also grabbed four rebounds and had two steals. This was a display of Ilyasova’s offensive ability, stretching the floor and providing a terrific spark from a player that is not typically a go-to guy.
The Hawks were without Millsap in this game and Ilyasova did his part in stepping up to help fill the void, unfortunately, the team as a whole did not do so.
Ilyasova did not have many games where he absolutely exploded. But he was a steady presence during his time with the Hawks and did not have many dud games, either. His consistency is what made him effective and his style of play is not one that will result in a lot of 20+ point performances.
