The Atlanta Hawks continue to workout potential backup point guards.

The headline of Thursday’s draft workout group is Oklahoma State sophomore point guard Jawun Evans. After averaging 19.2 points and 6.4 assists per game last season Evans has picked up major traction as a potential first round talent.

Evans was one of the prospects that Hawks personal were assigned to interview at the 2017 NBA Draft Combine, so there is a connection there already. He has great potential with his ball handling, defensive capability, playmaking and perimeter shooting.

The other notable from today’s group is North Carolina senior big man Kennedy Meeks. This is an old-school center in every aspect, a large prescience at 6’9″ 290 pounds that grabs rebounds proficiently and is effective around the rim.

While there isn’t much upside here, it would never hurt the Atlanta Hawks to bring on a capable prospect in for a Summer League stint. Meeks’ rebounding was a large part of UNC’s national championship run.

Another second round option that is working out with Atlanta today is French center

Mathias Lessort

. At 6’9″ 250 pounds Lessort plays with a huge motor making for a good hard-effort prospect.

He has played solid basketball in the French league putting up 18.5 points, 13.2 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.4 steals per-40 minutes, and looked well in the FIBA Europe Cup as well.

The other three participants in Thursday’s workouts include:

Ohio State senior forward Marc Loving, who averaged 13.2 points on 36% three-point shooting in his junior and senior seasons collectively.

Notre Dome senior guard Steve Vasturia, whom averaged 13.1 points per game for the Irish last season.

Serbian point guard Ognjen Jaramaz, who checks in at 6’4″ 195 pounds.
