Pick 27: Jordan Crawford
Passed On: Hassan Whiteside, Lance Stephenson.
Crawford was acquired by the Atlanta Hawks when they traded the rights to Damion James for him and Tibor Pleiss. The team was coming off of a strong 2009-10 season where they finished 53-29, and they were now looking to infuse the guard position with young talent as Mike Bibby continued to age. Crawford did not last long in Atlanta as he struggled to make an impact off the bench early on. The front office grew impatient with the inconsistent play of Crawford and Bibby, and they eventually shipped them both off in a package deal for Kirk Hinrich.
Pick 53: Pape Sy
The Hawks were the only team who really knew who Pape was before the draft. They were intrigued by his defensive potential and length. Sadly, Sy struggled to acclimate himself in the league as well as having to deal with nagging back injuries. He hardly touched the floor in his first season, registering just 3 games played and appearing in a couple of brief stints in the playoffs. The following season Pape was cut and his NBA career was pretty much all but over.
