Pick 23: John Jenkins

Passed On:  Draymond Green, Jae Crowder, Khris Middleton, Will Barton.

Jenkins was the first pick of the new regime lead by then general manager Danny Ferry. He was known as a knockdown shooter coming out of Vanderbilt, shooting 44% from 3 in his junior season. Jenkins never really found himself with the Hawks, even after Coach Budenholzer was hired and brought his shooting-oriented offense Jenkins still couldn’t get on the floor much. He never averaged more than 6 points per game with the Hawks, and he has been in and out of the league since leaving the Hawks after the 2014-15 season.

Pick 43: Mike Scott (Emoji or The Threegional Manager)

The first man on this list to really have some impact on the floor for the Hawks. Scott flourished off the bench for Mike Budenholzer in the 2013-14 season especially, averaging 9.6 pts and 3.6 rebounds per game. Scott looked destined to be a legit player for the Hawks when he performed admirably against the 1 seeded Indiana Pacers in the 2013-14 NBA Playoffs. He posted double figures in 4 of the 7 games and was a key spark-plug off the bench. Scott wasn’t necessarily bad in the next two seasons for the Hawks, but after being arrested for drug possession leading into the 2015-16 season, Scott was truly never the same. His playing time fell to Kris Humphries and Mike Muscala, and he was eventually traded to the Phoenix Suns this year at the deadline who promptly waived him soon after. Nonetheless, we will never forget him baptizing Ian Mahinmi which led to the roof falling off of Phillips Arena.
