The fate of the franchise depends on this decision. Is Paul Millsap still an Atlanta Hawk next season or is he gone?

Phil Veasley: No. There is no way Paul Millsap re-ups with the Hawks after the team sent a clear signal that they want to rebuild yesterday. I would be shocked if we see #4 in an Atlanta jersey in October. The Hawks may offer Millsap around a three year-100 million dollar deal but I can’t see them offering more/longer than that to a 32-year-old.

Nile Goodwyn: Paul Millsap will not be a Hawk next season. With Howard’s trade, the Hawks have shown that winning next season is not a priority. Wasting the final years of Millsap’s prime on a middling team makes no sense for either party. The Hawks are not a team built to win, as opposed to the Rockets, who have shown interest in Millsap. The Hawks aren’t the best fit for  Millsap at this point, and this will keep the 4-time All-Star from being a Hawk for the 2017-18 season.

Austin Bende: I’d say there’s an 80% chance Millsap is gone. With the team looking from the outside-in on title contention, the power forward’s age, other team’s interest, and the swirling rumors that have surrounded him the last two seasons; the grapevine seems to say that he’s a goner.

Xavier Cooper: Its no way Millsap is an Atlanta Hawk next season. The only way I could see it happening is if Millsap takes a huge pay cut to stay.  Millsap is getting older and this might be his last contract as an NBA player. so I don’t see him taking a pay cut for a team that can’t get past the Washington Wizards and definitely not the Cleveland Cavaliers. Schlenk has already expressed his dislike for bad contracts, so signing Millsap to a max contract at the age of 32 just to come up short in the playoffs is a no-no. Millsap is gone for sure.

Tyler Sellers: Gone. It makes no sense to sign him at all. Unless of course, it’s a sign and trade. They’ve dealt his seasoned veteran frontcourt mate already, so Millsap definitely has to go too. The building blocks of this team are very young. Add players who fit the same mold and can progress together.

Toby Bean: Paul Millsap will most likely not be with the Atlanta Hawks next season. Travis Schlenk has already stated that Millsap will probably get more lucrative offers from other teams. This is most likely Paul’s last big pay-day, and I don’t think he would take a pay cut with a team that will not be contending for a championship soon. Add that to the fact that the Rockets already have reported interest, a better team that will probably offer him more along with an actual shot at a ring. It does not look good as we may have already seen Paul Millsap’s last minutes in a Hawks uniform.

Da’Vonte Hughes: Paul Millsap will not be playing for the Atlanta Hawks next seasons. The 32 year-old power forward will be seeking a large sum that just won’t be coming his way from Atlanta. Travis Schlenk has said on multiple occasions that he will not take on bad contracts. Any contract that Paul Millsap signs will be considered a bad contract from this organization. Fans asked for and they will now receive a rebuilding phase from the hometown team. To the behest of diehard fans, the tickets sales will go up but the number of butts in the seats will go down.

Jack O’Donnell: Nope.
