The Atlanta Hawks released their 2017-2018 season schedule in spectacular fashion.
The Atlanta Hawks social media department always does a terrific job of blending in entertainment with news. The club’s twitter page did this to perfection today when they released every opponent the Hawks will face this season, in order, using all emojis.
The Hawks have always had a track record of using emojis to spell out opponents or game results or anything of that matter, and it continues with this. All 82 games of the Atlanta Hawks schedule were put together into one tweet, but you may have to be an expert emoji translator to completely figure out each opponent.
The first game of the season pits the Atlanta Hawks against the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Arena. According to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, this will be part of a five game road trip to begin the season for the Hawks. After they leave Dallas, Atlanta will travel to Charlotte, Brooklyn, Miami, and Chicago before playing their home opener in Atlanta.
That very home opener will be, well, rather bittersweet. The first home game of the season in Atlanta will be against none other than the Denver Nuggets. This will be the return of Paul Millsap to Atlanta, where he obviously spent four wonderful seasons of his career. You can and should expect a massive standing ovation for the Anchorman.
The Atlanta Hawks will not appear on any nationally televised games on ESPN or TNT this season. The team has two nationally televised games, both on NBA TV. One will be on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, at home against the San Antonio Spurs. The other will be in Sacramento against the Kings.
Now with the schedule out, you can go plan out your trips to come see the Atlanta Hawks play this season.
