Month-By-Month Review of the Atlanta Hawks 2017-18 Season
By Dallin Duffy
October
Record: 1-6
Best Win: @Dallas
Worst Loss: @Brooklyn
Atlanta started off the year on the right foot, beating a Mavericks team in Dallas who ended the season with the same record as the Hawks. Things quickly turned into the losing season we grew accustomed to as the win on October 18th was the team’s last until November 5th.
Because of the renovations to Phillips Arena, the Hawks were given the unenviable task of opening the season with 5 road games, which would be hard for any team. Because of this, any chance of a surprise playoff run quickly went out the window.
Statistically, the offense was better than expected, averaging nearly 100 points per game, but the defense was unacceptable, allowing more than 104 points in every game but one.
