A month of change for the Hawks saw both Ersan Ilyasova and Marco Belinelli being bought out (and joining the Sixers) after Atlanta couldn’t find a trade for either of the veterans. Some might say this was the month they fully embraced the tank.
They shifted their focus to trying to find a young talent in the rough, signing Antonius Cleveland and Jaylen Morris to ten-day contracts, both of whom remained on the squad for the rest of the season.
They remained mostly competitive in their losing outcomes and had an impressive beatdown of the Grizzlies, winning by 26.
In addition, two Hawks participated in All-Star Weekend, with John Collins and Taurean Prince playing in the Rising Stars game.
