Once again, Dennis Schröder shines in this category as the Hawks’ primary ballhandler. Schröd led the team in assists per game with 6.2 and total assists with 417, though both of those numbers were down from last season due to missing games.

Kent Bazemore, who had a banner year for the team, was second in total assists (228) and assists per game (3.5) – both of those numbers were career-highs for Baze, as he improved his all-around skill set in his 4th season with the Hawks.

Taurean Prince, who had the ball in his hands a lot during the final stretch of the season was third in total assists with 214, and he definitely improved over the course of the season as a distributor. He still pales in comparison to the passing skills of G-League superstar Josh Magette, who led the G-League in assists and was third on the Hawks in terms of per-game assists at 3.2.

In only 216 minutes played, Magette had 57 assists, good for a team-leading 36.4 assist percentage – just edging out Schröder’s 36.2.
