In his first year in the league, John Collins looked pretty sharp as a help defender and he was able to parlay his nuclear athleticism into team leads in blocks per game (1.1) and total blocks (80).

Those 80 blocks were also 2^nd among all rookies (behind only Jarrett Allen’s 88) and the highest number for a Hawks rookie since Josh Smith’s 144 blocks in the 2004-05 season.
