In his first year in the league, John Collins looked pretty sharp as a help defender and he was able to parlay his nuclear athleticism into team leads in blocks per game (1.1) and total blocks (80).

Those 80 blocks were also 2nd among all rookies (behind only Jarrett Allen’s 88) and the highest number for a Hawks rookie since Josh Smith’s 144 blocks in the 2004-05 season.
