Atlanta Hawks Best Lineups of the 2017-18 Season
By Dallin Duffy
2. Kent Bazemore, Tyler Cavanaugh, Ersan Ilyasova, Taurean Prince, Dennis Schröder
All of these lineups are finding a similar theme: the trio of Bazemore, Prince and Schröder. This threesome is easily ranked 1st on basketball-reference’s 3-man combinations rankings for the Hawks’ season and in total, they played a whopping 1,028 minutes together. This is particularly impressive knowing that both Baze and Dennis missed good chunks of the season due to injuries. Also, as mentioned earlier, these three finished first, second and third in scoring on the season.
In this particular lineup they were joined by big men Tyler Cavanaugh and Ersan Ilyasova. They helped grabbed rebounds at a good rate, allowing for more shot opportunities for the high-scoring trio.
They were also able to use their fast hands on defense, notching 4 more steals than their rivals as well as one more block.
The steals were likely made possible by Bazemore, who’s been quite the turnover creator his whole career, averaging over one steal per game throughout his four years in Atlanta.
