Anthony Tolliver, he of 9 teams in 10 NBA seasons, had perhaps his best season in the 2017-18 campaign – becoming one of the most reliable three-point shooters in the entire league for the Detroit Pistons.

In his second stint with Detroit (the first being half of the 2015-16 season), Tolliver shot absolutely lights-out from distance – getting up a career-high 4.6 attempts per game from beyond the arc and connecting on those shots a staggering 43.6 percent of the time (another career-high).

Those numbers were good enough to rank among the best in the league during the 2017-18 season, with his 43.6 percent from downtown the 7th-best in the league, his sky-high 66.3 percent true shooting 2nd-best overall in the NBA and his 125.6 offensive rating per 100 possessions ranked him 6th overall in the NBA.

Combined with those gaudy shooting numbers were career-highs in both Player Efficiency Rating (13.9), win shares (5.3) as well as games played (79).

After a career year, it’s likely that a few playoff contenders will call upon Tolliver this offseason with a relatively inexpensive deal, but if the Hawks value his shooting numbers as well as his possible veteran leadership more than those teams, they can put in a far superior offer with their excess of cap space.

If Tolliver does make it to the Hawks, it would be his second tour of duty with the team, as he played for Atlanta in the 2012-13 season during its recently ended streak of 10 straight playoff appearances.

Good three-point shooters are always in demand in the NBA, and Tolliver should be able to come in and contribute immediately for the team – and could possibly be used a trade asset in the future.
