Dzanan Musa

A wing for KK Cedevita in the Croatian League, Dzanan Musa is a proven scorer. Though his physical tools pale in comparison to some of the more marvelous physical specimens in the upper tiers of this draft class, not many players projected to go in the first round have Musa’s scoring touch.

Musa was an offensive dynamo in his most recent season at KK Cedevita, putting up per-40 minute numbers of 21.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals.

The most common playstyle in the NBA these days is the omnipresent pick-and-roll, and Musa excels in that play type. He has scored well above average as the ballhandler in that scenario, though he often doesn’t need a pick to shake his defender – using a nice catalog of moves to shed his defender off the dribble and knife his way to the rim with ease.

Sure, there are defensive concerns as well as strength concerns (Musa currently only weighs 195 pounds), and his +0 wingspan is also an issue, but the upside of this 19-year-old wing is extremely tantalizing for the Hawks.

Musa could do with joining an NBA or G-League franchise and working on his body while also honing his diverse offensive skill set, and he should definitely be on the Hawks radar midway or later on in the first round.
