Though the Atlanta Hawks will have ample opportunity to land a transcendent talent with a Top 5 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, they also have numerous picks beyond that lottery selection.

Though the team’s coffers aren’t quite as bountiful as, say, Philadelphia’s cornucopia of picks (6 selections in the 2018 Draft), the team will still have an excellent chance to rebuild the team in one fell swoop if the front office “hits” on all their picks.

However, as a fallback option, the Hawks could obtain a second round pick by taking on bad salary or Schlenk and Co. could even buy a pick from another team – much like how the Warriors purchased the 38th overall pick (which became Jordan Bell) from the Bulls last year for $3.5 million – though the Hawks wouldn’t even be looking for a pick that high.

This draft is rife with talent, and finding a high-upside player, or even just an interesting prospect late in the second round, is not out of the question.

If Hawks General Manager Travis Schlenk is truly committed to building through the draft, here are some prospects that are slated to go late in the second-round that might catch Atlanta’s interest.
