One skill that never gets old in the NBA is shooting. The Hawks shot quite well from deep this season, but they didn’t have a true “knockdown” guy a la Kyle Korver from the magical 60-win team of 2014-15.

Rookie Tyler Dorsey has a solid stroke, but it’s unknown whether his shot will be deemed “automatic” at any point in his career.

Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk out of Kansas is a knockdown shooter. His shooting numbers are stunning and his outside shot is extremely versatile – meaning he can get it off at various angles and speeds from all over the court. Svi is projected to go in the mid-to-late second round of the NBA Draft, meaning he is probably a little bit out of range for the Hawks – whose final pick will be 33rd overall.

Though Atlanta liked to get up the three-ball in 2017-18 (31 attempts per game, 7th in the league), they only shot 36 percent from downtown as a team, only good for 15th overall in the NBA.

Mykhailiuk, on the other hand, shot a robust 40.9 percent from deep in his career and an incredible 44.4 percent during the 2017-18 season.

If the Hawks want to purchase a pick in 2017-18, Mykhailiuk would make for an interesting addition to the team.
