Robert Williams

Robert Williams is a 6 ft. 10. in. big-bodied rebounding machine. In his second year playing for the Texas A&M Aggies, he averaged 10.4 points and 9.2 rebounds in 25.6 minutes. Williams would be a great big man option for the Hawks if they decide to take Luka Doncic (yes please) or Trae Young (what Quavo wants, Quavo gets?) with their first pick in the first round of the draft.

While Williams wouldn’t have the ability yet to stretch the floor like a lot of the other bigs in this draft class, he would bring a physicality and defensive presence to the Hawks frontcourt that it will lack when Dewayne Dedmon opts out of his player option for next season. He would be a great fit next to John Collins down low and they would be extremely fun to watch. Just picture the two of them throwing down lobs and putback slams side-by-side.

Williams would be a great pick at 19 if he falls that far down the board.

Just the thought of the Hawks pulling in Mo Bamba, Luka Doncic, Marvin Bagley III, Jaren Jackson Jr., or Trae Young and then turning around and stealing either Knox or Williams on June 21 should make fans salivate and look forward to the future of Atlanta Hawks basketball.

The Hawks will hopefully take a huge step forward as an organization when the draft comes later this month. Phillips Arena will hopefully get back to its days as the “highlight factory” and the Hawks will hopefully get back to their winning ways. The future is bright for this team.
