With the draft less than a week away, Hawks fans should be getting very excited. This draft is loaded with prospects who look to be ready to contribute in the NBA.

Luckily, the Hawks have set themselves up to make strides to greatly improve their roster this summer with 4 draft picks and plenty of money to spend once free agency kicks off in July.

The Hawks have the 4th pick in the second round, the 34th overall pick of the draft.

There could be some real talent that slips that far in the draft so don’t overlook second round contributors. Players like 2017 NBA Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon, Nikola Jokic, Marc Gasol, and one of my favorite Hawks of all time, Paul Millsap were all second round picks in the draft.

Last year the Hawks took Tyler Dorsey in the second round and he looks as if he will be a contributor for years to come.

A few players that may be available when the Hawks make their only selection in the 2nd round include Justin Jackson (Maryland), Jerome Robinson (Boston College), Hamidou Diallo (Kentucky), and Rawle Alkins (Arizona).
