The Atlanta Hawks released their full schedule for the 2018-19 season, and multiple interesting storylines introduced themselves.

As fateful a day as possible during the NBA offseason, the full schedules for all teams were released yesterday by the NBA. The Atlanta Hawks schedule, which features only one nationally televised game (up from a lofty zero from last season) is rife with interesting matchups and scintillating in-game storylines.

Perhaps the Atlanta Hawks most interesting game in the early portion of the season is its home opener against the Dallas Mavericks on October 24. Not only will this be the debut of Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, Omari Spellman, Vince Carter, Jeremy Lin and many other new Hawks, but it will also pit the two Top-5 Draft picks who were traded for one another, Trae and Luka Doncic, against each other for the first time.

Not only that, but that October 24 tilt will also be the Atlanta Hawks home opener and debut of the newly revamped and renovated Philips Arena. Hopefully, Hawks fans will be out in full force.

On October 30, Trae Young will face off against fellow lottery pick point guard Collin Sexton – marking the first time the two will play against one another in the league.  The next game, on November 1, will feature Trae against the #2 overall pick Marvin Bagley, which should make for can’t-miss viewing.

Starting on November 11, the Hawks will travel to Los Angeles to play the LeBron James-led Lakers for the first time, then follow that up with a bout against the defending champion Golden State Warriors on the 13th.

The Hawks undergo their longest road trip of seven games from January 23 to February 4, traveling from Chicago, along the West Coast, then back to Washington to face the Wizards. Following that lengthy trek, the team will stay home for seven games from February 7 to February 22, which also spans the All-Star break.

Erstwhile Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer and point guard Dennis Schröder return to Philips Arena in back-to-back games on January 13 and 15, when the Bucks and Thunder visit Atlanta.
