The Atlanta Hawks recently debuted a new throwback jersey as well as a new court design in order to commemorate the team’s 50th anniversary of moving to Atlanta.

Originally located in the “Tri-Cities,” then Milwaukee, then St. Louis, the Atlanta Hawks finally moved to the South in 1968, bringing NBA basketball to the city of Atlanta for the first time.

To honor the team’s history, Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin recently unveiled a beautiful new throwback jersey to showcase the jersey the team first wore when they moved to the city.

A striking combination of sky blue and candy apple red with interesting numbering and lettering, these are some of the best Atlanta Hawks jerseys in recent memory – combining the classic and contemporary in an excellently designed package.

The jerseys will serve as the team’s “Hardwood Classic” jersey, though the dates of them being worn have not yet been announced.

Koonin’s presentation continued with an unveiling of a new home court the Hawks will employ at times during the season to commemorate 50 years in Atlanta.

The black, white and gold combination exudes style and nods back to the storied history of the Hawks franchise. This new color scheme and court design marks the first time that the Atlanta Hawks will use two different court designs during the season, and the team will also unveil a matching jersey for the court at a later date.

Of course, there are multiple ways in which the Hawks franchise is trying to recapture its fan base, and it’s going about it the right way. With a newly revamped home stadium, an almost entirely new roster of players (including hotshot rookie Trae Young and sophomore slam-dunk specialist John Collins) and new jerseys and court designs, Hawks fans have plenty of reasons to come check out the team in 2018-19.

If all else fails, fans should flock to the stadium in order to enjoy $3 nachos, hot dogs and French fries – what a deal!
