Injury Report

One of the major announcements of the day was the release of the most recent Atlanta Hawks injury report, which saw multiple new players added to this list of the team’s “walking wounded.”

Dewayne Dedmon, who fractured his ankle in a recent workout, seemed to be in fine spirits and was moving around with ease – ribbing the younger players as well as his teammate from last season Taurean Waller-Prince.

In addition to Dedmon, Jeremy Lin has been cleared for all basketball activities with limited restrictions after a terrible injury ended his season after 20 minutes last year. Lin should bring a lot of attention from fans to the Hawks and his veteran’s poise and leadership should help these young Atlanta Hawks develop an identity.

Beyond those two players, Daniel Hamilton and Justin Anderson will both be out for much of training camp and possibly into the regular season as they recover from a torn rotator cuff and leg surgery, respectively.

Lastly, number 30 overall pick Omari Spellman has inflammation in his left tibia that will keep him out for 7-10 days.

While none of this may be earth-shattering news, it does mean that rotations and lineups will have to be tweaked and that Hawks fans might see more of the team’s Two-Way players than they were expecting to out of the gate.
