With the preseason and regular season right around the corner, the Atlanta Hawks announced the team’s full training camp roster.

SOUND THE ALARM. The Atlanta Hawks are almost back, people!

Clearly, we’re excited, as this offseason has been seemingly interminable after a lengthy gestation period for the first full year of the Caw-cess (open to suggestions for a catchier name than that as well).

With new players aplenty on the roster with a few familiar faces returning to what will hopefully be a more forgiving developmental situation, the Hawks today announced the full training camp rosters, which include no surprises for the most part.

The three newest additions on the team, which were signed expressly for training camp, are all included here: Cole Aldrich, Thomas Robinson and R.J. Hunter. While we’ve expressed who we think has the best chance to stay, we shall see if any of the other two make waves during camp.

R.J. Hunter is, of course, the local favorite after his heroics in the NCAA Tournament of 2015, which are still so much fun to watch (unless you’re Taurean Prince, who was on the receiving end of this savage treatment):

Plenty of updates have been streaming out regarding Atlanta Hawks training camp, with Trae Young already looking like a knockdown three-point shooter (though his Summer League returns might say otherwise):

Legendary activist and Atlanta icon Andrew Young even stopped by to share some words of wisdom with this young squad. Kent Bazemore, for his part, is taking on the full responsibility of being a wizened veteran for this team, and he spoke to Fox Sports Southeast (the exclusive television home of the Hawks) about his role on the team in 2018-19:

As always, Bazemore always knows exactly what to say and how to say it, which makes his likely trade this season even more heartbreaking. But hey, that’s just the NBA.

Who’s excited?
