With the preseason starting today (!), let’s take a look at three bold predictions for new Atlanta Hawks big man Alex Len.

The 2018-19 season will be here before you know it, Atlanta Hawks fans, and we want to welcome you to the build-up to it the only way we know how. With plenty of new faces to get acquainted with (as well as a smattering of holdovers from last year’s team), the Hawks will make for a fascinating case study in 2018-19.

One way to look ahead to the 2018-19 regular season is by exploring predictions for each player on the roster. As such, read on and enjoy 3 bold predictions for new big man Alex Len.

When Len, a hulking 7’1″ Ukranian force, was picked 5th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, he was seen as a high-potential, high-upside guy with phenomenal touch and a boundless motor.

After 5 years with the Suns, he’ll now be a key ingredient in the Hawks youth experiment, one predicated on unlocking the promise hidden in uber-talented youngsters barely old enough to drink (and, in the case of 20-year-olds Trae Young and Kevin Huerter, not old enough to drink).

In what could be one of the more underrated signings of the 2018 offseason, Len fits this experiment to a “T”.

A crowded Phoenix frontcourt that added #1 overall pick DeAndre Ayton during the draft left no room for Len in the desert.  After he was allowed to walk away in free agency, he lands softly into the arms of an Atlanta squad that will sorely need Len’s screening ability to open shooting windows for their young gunners.

Let’s get to some bold predictions for what Alex Len will accomplish in his first season in Atlanta.
