Atlanta Hawks: 5 Most Exciting Players to Watch in 2018-19
By Chris Guest
Taurean Prince
Perhaps another unorthodox choice with so many young players on the roster for next season as well as multiple new faces that will be exciting to watch on a night-to-night basis, Taurean Prince should provide plenty of excitement for fans in his third season in the league.
After the All-Star break last season, one of the main reasons to tune in and watch an Atlanta Hawks broadcast was to see if Prince would achieve something impressive. More often than not, he did.
Prince had the ultimate green light down the end of last season, and he embraced that role wholeheartedly. He lit up the scoreboard as the team’s number-one option on offense, and he also showed strides as a secondary ballhandler in the pick-and-roll.
Other than Trae Young, who we’ll get to later on this list, The Prince That Was Promised is perhaps the most important player for the Hawks’ future seeing as he plays a position of supreme importance in the league (listed as a three), he is supremely switchable on defense and he can also create for himself and others off the dribble.
At 24 years old, Prince is among the older of the team’s youth movement, but that just means he can help lead his even younger teammates to loftier heights in 2018-19.
