Trae Young Will Learn and Grow Before Our Eyes

Trae Young has already been the recipient of a ton of attention/praise/criticism/scrutiny this offseason, and his Summer League and preseason efforts did little to dispel the concerns about his game coming out of college.

However, though a little recency bias might be creeping into this take, his last few games in the preseason made Atlanta Hawks fans (and NBA fans in general) sit up and take notice, with Ice Trae delivering this stunningly deep game-winning triple versus the Spurs:

Though he still makes a lot of mistakes on defense, his command of the court and exemplary passing vision on offense help make his teammates better and allow his team to hum along on that end.

Sure, he might take a lot of shots, but it doesn’t seem intrusive or selfish in the way that some point guard’s attempts do. Watching Trae Young grow and learn in 2018-19 will be a lot of fun.
