The Dribble Moves

Being a point guard in the NBA means that you must be able to produce separation against your defender at any given moment.

Former Hawks point guard Dennis Schröder could do it with his speed, but he wasn’t the craftiest dribbler – instead opting to blow by defenders with his amazing footspeed. While Trae Young is definitely fleet of foot, his more impressive skill when faced off with a defender is his ballhandling.

Young had some stellar moves on display in his dazzling performance against the Cavs, and whenever a big switched out to him, it was pretty much all over – which is exactly what you would want from a star point guard in today’s NBA.

When his lane was closed he found a cutter or an open shooter. When Trae Young wanted to get to the rim, however, his craft handle and dazzling array of dribble moves and feints were too much for defenders to handle.

Sure, it’s just one game… but what a game it was!
