We delve into 6 takeaways after an emphatic Atlanta Hawks victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers by a final margin of 133 to 111.

For the first time (and certainly not the last – maybe) in the 2018-19 season, the Atlanta Hawks have won an officially sanctioned regular season basketball game.

A listless Cavs squad rolled over in the second half after cruising out to a 15-point lead in the 1st quarter, which the Atlanta Hawks responded to with their own impressive lead by the end of the game.

This was an eye-opening performance by the Hawks, as they are still lacking much of an interior presence without John Collins and Dewayne Dedmon – something that the Cavs exploited early and often with Tristan Thompson and All-Star Kevin Love feasting in the paint to start the game. At one point, the Cavs had scored 24 of the team’s 51 points in the painted area.

The script would flip, however, heading into the second half, when the Hawks defense seemingly woke up and the team’s young guns understood how to employ their talent.
