We delve into 6 takeaways from an Atlanta Hawks loss at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers,113-92.

After a strong, inspired start for the visiting Atlanta Hawks, an abysmal third quarter doomed their chances to pick up a victory against one of the East’s strongest teams.

It was a tale of two halves for Atlanta, which opened the game in a fevered pitch of hustle plays and crisp passing. They played the part of the hungry underdog, and did well to force turnovers on the defensive end and convert them on the other side of the floor.

However, tied 47-47 at halftime, the young Atlanta Hawks came out out of the locker room for the third period and looked like they had just been woken up in the middle of the night, getting outscored 31-13 in one of the ugliest quarters of the season for them.

The loss spoils head coach Lloyd Pierce‘s homecoming to Philly, where he spent five seasons as an assistant.
